the chain variation. rarer than the satchel, and in some ways the better one — lighter to carry, the same hardware language, the padlock exactly as phoebe philo intended it.
designed during philo's tenure at chloé (2001–2006), this is a pre-departure piece — the era the brand spent the last twenty years trying to return to.
black lambskin body. antique brass chain strap. detachable wide leather crossbody strap. signature padlock at center. c-buckle details at sides. interior in good order.
condition: very good vintage. natural softening to the leather consistent with wear and age. some light nicking to the straps. hardware warm and intact. original key included, no dust bag.

every piece is photographed on a medium dress form — 34.5" bust, 26" waist, 33.5" hips. measurements for each piece are listed in every product description along with sizing recommendations. if you're between sizes or unsure, reach out to me on IG @othermattersatelier or other@othermattersatelier.com before purchasing and i'll help you figure it out.
how is condition assessed?
each piece is inspected and described by me, Hope, an experienced fashion designer with more than 13 years in the industry. condition notes reflect what i'd want to know as a buyer, not a best-case reading. if a flaw is there, i will say so.
what if something goes wrong?
every order ships fully insured with tracking. if your piece arrives damaged or significantly different from how it's described, contact me within 48 hours at other@othermattersatelier.com and i'll make it right. for all other returns, store credit is available within 14 days of delivery — pieces must be unworn and in the same condition received.
the fashion industry has spent decades trying to be everything to everyone; every trend, every moment, every market. the result is a lot of product and very little that lasts. other matters exists in the space between. pieces chosen because they were made with a point of view, not a trend cycle. because the construction holds. because someone knew what they were doing when they made it. bringing one home is a small act of intention in a very loud world.
